Guy Pincus
Research Fields: Environmental Economics, Political Economy, and Development Economics.
I am a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University and an incoming faculty member at Tel Aviv University.
In my research, I study how we can better protect ecological resources in the developing world. These regions contain a large share of the world's biodiversity and natural capital, while conservation often takes place in settings characterized by limited state capacity, political instability, social tensions, and strong pressures for economic growth. I study how environmental policies and institutions can be designed to work effectively under these constraints.
A second strand of my research examines the social costs of ecological degradation, and how environmental change affects economic and social outcomes.
